TVIB: And that's what our new sound should be.
JON: Good golly!
BIG IAN: Aha!
(BIG IAN scribbles something in a note book.)
IAN: What a fright! I couldn't do it---
BIG IAN: Oho!
(Scribble scribble.)
TVIB: You'd better do something, for your own sake.
BIG IAN (mumbling): Oh, that's so good!
(Scribble scribble scribble.)
ROGER: But Rich... see the mess you're making?
BIG IAN (mumbling): Hmm... yeah...
(More scribbling.)
TVIB: Well I'm a long way from where I wanna go---
BIG IAN (mumbling): Cool...
(Scribble scribble.)
JON: But it's so different from the old stuff, Rich.
TVIB: Don't speak about the past, times are changing fast!
BIG IAN (mumbling): Perfect!
(Scribble scribble... he's filled several pages by now.)
TVIB: C'mon guys! Don't slow down, we're nearly there now!
BIG IAN (mumbling): Nearly there...
(Scribbles a bit more.)
TVIB: See, there's a line that's drawn between...
BIG IAN (shouting): Finished! Ok guys, here's my first set of lyrics!
ROGER: Go for it, mate!
BIG IAN SINGING:
Black night is not right,
I don't feel so bright,
I don't care to sit tight.
Maybe I'll find on the way down the line
that I'm free, free to be me.
Black night is a long way from home.
I don't need a dark tree,
I don't want a rough sea,
I can't feel, I can't see.
Maybe I'll find on the way down the line
that I'm free, free to be me.
Black night is a long way from home.
Black night, black night,
I don't need black night,
I can't see dark night.
Maybe I'll find on the way down the line
that I'm free, free to be me.
Black night is a long way from home.
(There is a long, long silence.)
TVIB: What the FU---
